The laboratory covers an area of approximately 2,400 square meters, and it is constructed in accordance with ISO 9001, CNAS 17025 system and GLP standards. At present, the laboratory has a liquid-mass spectrometer, gas chromatography-mass spectrometer, ICP-MS, convergence chromatography and other instruments, uses Biobank, LIMS and other management systems. It is a technology platform capable of carrying out a variety of detection services. It has co-built “Duxact-Waters Joint Lab” with Waters in the United States; It has co-built “State-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Drug Clinical Evaluation Technology” with Central South University; “Third-party Detection Central South Center of Pharmaceuticals, Health-care Products and Cosmetics,” and plans to co-build “H-D Data Center” with the National Supercomputing Center in Changsha (国家超级计算机长沙中心).
(1) Storage refrigerators
16 ultra-low-temperature refrigerators (-86℃, Thermofisher and Haier), 13 refrigerators (5℃ and -20℃). Each -80℃ refrigerator can deposit approximately 20,000 cryogenic vials.
All refrigerators are equipped with real-time temperature monitoring equipment, which will give an alarm once the power is off and will inform the sample administrator in the form of short message.
(2) Detection equipment
One Agilent ICP-MS which is mainly used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of metallic elements. Currently, the detection of an application project (bismuth) has been successfully completed using this equipment;
Two AB sciex 6500+ liquid chromatography-mass spectrometers which are equipped with Waters liquid chromatographs and adopt ANALYSE data processing systems;
One Agilent 7890B GC-MS which is used for detection of volatile substances with low boiling points, such as chlorides, benzenes and phenols;
Four Waters Xevo TQ-D liquid chromatography-mass spectrometers;
Two Waters Xevo TQ-S liquid chromatography-mass spectrometers (with higher sensitivity than TQ-D);
Two Waters UPLCs (ultra-high performance liquid chromatographs);
One Waters ACQUITY UPC2 (also known as UPCC, i.e. convergence chromatograph) which is mainly used for analysis of chiral drugs.
(3) Weighing equipment
One Sartorius 0.001mg balance with the minimum weighable quantity up to 1mg;
One 0.01mg balance, one 0.1mg balance, and one 1mg balance.
